Restoring the character of a London townhouse

This traditional, Edwardian property in North London, has been taken back to its roots, by homeowner, Mr Hassan.

“The previous homeowners replaced the original sash windows, with awful, PVC casements. We were keen to put sash windows back into the property, and restore its intended look” Mr Hassan comments about their home, just a stone’s throw from the popular areas of Edmonton and Tottenham.

Beautiful sash windows for London home

Across the front façade, our timeless White slim sash windows were specified, including a large, triple sash window on the ground floor. The fully glazed style is a feature seen across many homes of this architectural period in London, allowing for natural light to flood into the home, between beautiful, ornate stone mullions.

“Separately, we extended the property at the rear and had casement windows installed. In hindsight, after living with the new sash windows, we wish we had done the same with the extension” Mr Hassan explains.

“Since the sash windows went in, we have noticed a real difference. The old casements could never keep the house warm and were so draughty. With the new sash windows, the house is so much better insulated” Mr Hassan concludes.

“We can now enjoy having our windows open and allow air to flow through the home”
