As Spring has well and truly sprung, we thought we’d take a quick look at 7 fun things to do in Wimbledon over the next couple of months – bank holiday events included!
1. Wimbledon and Putney Commons annual Easter Egg Hunt
Easter wouldn’t be the same without taking part in the Wimbledon Bank Holiday Easter Egg Hunt. Follow the trails and hunt the Commons with friends and family to see who can find the most chocolate eggs! Held between 19th to 22nd April, 10am-4pm, entry is just £2 each, with prizes for everyone and a free to enter Easter colouring competition open to all ages.
2. Experience Wimbledon from a different perspective
Why not take time out from the hustle and bustle of the city this spring to enjoy the glorious countryside and wildlife of Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park? Unique fun for all the family, get back in the saddle or try something new with a day out at Wimbledon Village Stables on Wimbledon High Street.
3. Wimbledon Market on The Piazza
Held every month from March through to November, Wimbledon Market offers a global mix of tasty street food and an array of local traders selling an eclectic fusion of art, clothing, homeware and jewellery. If you love the atmosphere of a good market, then get down to Wimbledon Piazza for their spring markets taking place 11am – 6pm, April 6th & 7th and May 4th & 5th.

4. Lineker & Baker at the New Wimbledon Theatre
If you’re a fan of ‘the beautiful game’, the New Wimbledon Theatre on The Broadway has a real treat in store for you! Football and broadcasting pundits Gary Lineker and Danny Baker will be divulging dressing room tales and green room stories on the evening of Sunday April 7th.

5. Get nostalgic at Wimbledon Windmill Museum
Opening for the spring and summer season from Saturday 30th March, built in 1817, this well-preserved Wimbledon museum is definitely worth a visit.
6. Spring Bank Holiday Happy Days
If you’re looking for a local ‘feel good’ event to celebrate the Spring Bank Holiday, take a quick 20-minute drive to East Molesey in Esher for the Happy Days Festival. If you enjoy 70s, 80s and 90s music you’ll love this event, with Soul ‘n’ Dance Saturday on 25th May and Carnival Sunday on 26th May. From Sister Sledge to Jimmy Cliff, let the Happy Days Festival take you back in time to celebrate those Happy Days!
