This Sunday, October 3rd, our Managing Director Tom Scanlan will be running in the London Marathon along with up to 50,000 runners. The iconic London marathon is the world’s biggest staged marathon and is well known for runners passing the city’s most famed landmarks.
Tom will be taking part in the 26-mile challenge and running to support the charity Marie Curie. The long-established charity supports essential end-of-life care to people with terminal illnesses and is incredibly important. They provided invaluable help and support when Tom’s father was terminally ill and is personally aware of the support Marie Curie provides to families.
Tom is not shy of hard work, and after a few false starts with complications of the pandemic, he has been training hard for the big day. Tom quotes, “At P & P, we’ve always placed a very strong emphasis on giving back, and I hope lots of our customers, suppliers and friends throughout the region will sponsor me!”
P & P endeavours to help others and have previously supported the Number Five Homeless Charity, helped the children’s hospice George’s Dragons and sponsored Cranleigh Youth F.C. We have also recently offered local charity and community groups £10K worth of glazing products through our community giveaway to help our local area after such difficult times with Covid-19.
