P & P Glass win a Silver and Bronze Award in the Glassex 07 Conservatory Design Competition.

The Glassex Conservatory Design Competition, sponsored by Pilkington Activ, is a recognized platform to demonstrate the best of the UK glass and glazing industry and to reward excellence. Entries came from British companies with installations from as far a field as Australia.

With between 200,000 to 250,000 conservatories installed in the UK alone every year, to feature in the awards an entry had to be exceptional in all respects.
P & P Glass we’re therefore delighted to win awards in the following two categories.

Small Conventional – Bronze Award
Large Conventional – Silver Award

The awards were presented at the annual Glassex industry exhibition held at the NEC in March 07.

The small conventional category incorporates the majority of standard domestic installations with typical styles such as lean-to, Georgian and Victorian, with sizes up to 20 square metres

‘The judges agreed that this entry from P&P Glass showed a lovely extension to a listed building that keeps the character of the existing property while providing a room that makes the garden feel part of the house’

The large conventional category was for conservatories over 20 square metres. With styles such as P or T shapes and domestic pool enclosures.

‘One judge commented that this entry is an attractive extension in hardwood which required piling for the foundations as well as planning permission to create a beautiful and well thought out finished product’
