The BSI Kitemark is one of the most respected quality marks in the world, recognised as a symbol of quality safety and trust. P & P Glass are leading the way forward in improving the quality standards and reputation of the window installation industry and are currently one of an exclusive group of companies in the U K to have been awarded this standard for the survey and installation of windows and doors.
The Kitemark cannot be purchased and is only awarded following stringent independent testing and assessment of all parts of the business. Our customers can now be assured that our survey and installation service has been independently assessed by BSI and gaining Kitemark certification ensures complete confidence that we will consistently meet the highest quality standards.
Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme
When having windows and doors replaced homeowners must comply with current building regulations and ensure that they get a certificate of compliance from a certified competent person scheme or from Local Authority Building Control.
Assure is a government licensed competent person scheme. It ensures installers are compliant with the building regulations by monitoring their work and providing qualifications to prove their operatives are competent
Competent Person Schemes (CPS) were introduced by the UK Government to allow individuals and enterprises to self-certify that their work complies with the Building Regulations as an alternative to submitting a building notice or using an approved inspector.
Minimum Technical Competencies (MTCs) are now a mandatory requirement for Installers and Surveyors working in the Glass and Glazing sector within the domestic market for England and Wales. They were introduced to the Fenestration industry in September 2012 by the Department for Communities & Local Governments (DCLG). Installers and Surveyors registered with a glazing Competent Person's Scheme (CPS) such as BSI, must demonstrate certain experience, knowledge and competence within their field by 6th June 2014, in order to continue working under their CP Scheme and self-certifying their work. Through the BSI P & P Glass are able to self- certify compliance under these Building Regulations and as a Kitemark Installer we are constantly monitored by the B.S.I. to ensure that these high standards are continually met.
